Firstly Glencoe and Lochaber. A wonderful region of Scotland in the very heart of the Scottish Highlands. Glencoe and Fort William are probably the most popular tourist centres in Scotland. It encompasses one of the great areas in terms of sea and mountain landscapes in the country, backed by some of the biggest boldest and most demanding peaks in Britain.

This area could be described as Scotland’s fjord land a drowned coastline with long sea arms winding far inland. Fort William lies at sea level at the mouth of one of these fjords while just a few kilometres away the rugged summit of Ben Nevis lies 1344 metres (4418 ft) the highest mountain in the British Isles gives an imposing backdrop to the town. There are approximately forty peaks in this region over three thousand feet. Glencoe and Lochaber epitomizes everything to the walker. It is a vast, wild, distant country. Crowded with fine mountain peaks in every direction.

The Isle of Skye is the second largest of the Hebridean islands lying of the west coast of Scotland. The island covers an area of 1800 square metres (700 square miles). Wherever you are on Skye you are never more than 8 km from the sea.

The island is a wonderful place. It is truly spectacular. If we had to choose our favourite area in Scotland it would be a very hard choice but Skye would probably be first on our list.

Skye is a walkers paradise. It is jammed packed with fascinating places to explore. This is without doubt a stand out island with the choice of interesting and exciting walking experiences that have no equal in the British Isles. Together with the island setting mountain vistas, hills, waterfalls sea scapes and beautiful pure light.
